2000: Future Sixth Man CEO, Ray Blom, opens Contractors State License Center to assist Contractors with obtaining their State License and realizing their dreams of becoming Business Owners
2004: Arnold Schwarzenneger (then Governor of California) signs SB 899 into effect, revoking training benefits for injured workers and reforming the entire CA Workers’ Comp system thus eliminating a majority of revenue for Contractors State License Center
2008: As a result of SB 899, what once was a thriving chain of 5 Contractors State License Center locations across Southern California has since dwindled to 1 remaining location in Ontario, CA.
2008: Ray Blom partners with The Corporate Advocate to launch what would become a multi-million dollar PEO/Workers’ Comp brokerage
2012: Ray becomes a Partner in JS Platinum Insurance Services, a boutique Commercial Insurance Agency focused on high-risk clients in the Construction and Temporary Staffing Industries
2019: Ray’s partnership with The Corporate Advocate comes to an end. Through the exit, Ray becomes the sole owner of JS Platinum Insurance Services and continues to service his book of insurance and PEO clients setting up shop at a new location in San Bernardino, CA
2020: Ray’s son, Chris Blom, is hired as the Brokerage Manager and brings a new level of experience and structure to JS Platinum
2022: JS Platinum becomes Sixth Man Employer & Insurance Services. A new breed of Insurance Agency that aims to provide value to California Businesses beyond their Commercial Insurance needs

Having obtained his Property & Casualty Insurance License in 2016, Ray’s insurance career has always centered around Workers’ Compensation, allowing him to truly become an expert at his craft.
These days, when Ray isn’t occupied by his advisory role with the company, he spends time pursuing his passion of helping others reach their own career and life goals through the not-for-profit organization he leads.
Ray is driven by his faith and his family and loves to travel the world for pleasure and mission trips.

Since he obtained his Property & Casualty Insurance License in 2012, Chris has held several roles in the Insurance Industry with a handful of organizations. What has remained constant, throughout his career, is the commitment to master Commercial (Business) Insurance. More specifically, Workers’ Compensation Insurance due to the effect that it can have on an Employer’s bottom line in California.
Over the years, the pursuit to gain Workers’ Compensation knowledge led him to Sixth Man’s chief offering today, PEO (Professional Employer Organizations). As a result, Chris has broadened his skillset to include many aspects that affect California Employers today (HR, Payroll, Taxes and Medical Benefits to name a few).
As a result of this evolution and years of experience in business, Chris has become a bit of a general business resource to his clients. Chris’ pursuit of knowledge and resources continues to drive him today in his role of leading the day-to-day charge for Sixth Man Employer Services.
On a personal note, Chris is proud to carry the title of husband and father and finds his joy in being a family man. He spends his free time keeping up with sports, traveling with family and hunting down a good beer.

Sonaina (Pronounced So-nine-na) is the epitome of a social butterfly. With a natural love for meeting new people and fostering relationships, Sonaina has found success in each of her Business Development and Sales positions.
She began her career selling jewelry to tourists in Hawaii and has grown in each of her positions since.
Over the years, Sonaina’s products and the complexity of those products have changed (from yellow page ads to medical supplies and a few in between), but her desire to connect with the people behind a business has played a major role at each stop in her career and is what drives her to this day.
As a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Agent, Sonaina is constantly challenging herself to consume new information and remain an expert for the clients that depend on her.

The newest member of our team, Joshua joined Sixth Man Employer Services in 2024. No stranger to the business world, Joshua has a background in sales management and insurance. Holding a Property & Casualty Insurance License, Joshua is on the path to becoming the resident Commercial (Business) Insurance Expert.
Being a bit of an entrepreneur in his own right, Joshua enjoys building relationships with his clients and assessing how their business could benefit from a solid insurance plan and ultimately, achieve the goals they set for themselves.
In his spare time, Joshua, his wife, and kids stay involved as leaders in their church. Joshua’s hobbies include fishing, hiking, and skydiving.
